Table Stands

Table stands are signs located on top of a horizontal, flat surface and are not attached to it permanently. In most cases they are put on top of a desk and used to communicate the person's name and/or title.

The importance of table stands is often underestimated and those that are ignorant of it, will "save money" by eliminating them.

Why are the table-stands so important?

Well, that depends on their use. In case of a name-plate, they are establishing a starting point and breaking the ice for any visitor, whether a public, customer or vendor or another employee of the company. How often you meet someone, who introduces himself properly, and few minutes later you are embarrassed to have forgotten his or her name. You probably remember how uncomfortable it is.

Another point is the person's job title. This point goes beyond mere courtesy. It was found that employees and managers alike are more productive when they have a defined post title. This site is not here to explain why it is that way, but apparently when someone has his title in front of him, presented to any visitor and co-worker, he is bound to represent it.

Another use of the table stands is promotion of products, services and events. When you have someone sitting in front of you, he is a "captive prisoner" and will look at what you will put in his line of vision. Hey, it's more polite than staring at you while you type something on your computer...

Here is your opportunity to choose the item that will get his or her attention. The examples on the left and on top, show that use of table stands.

By it nature, those promotion pieces are temporary and you need a sign frame with changeable insert. Vista is just great for that purpose - if you have your promotion in consistent size, you can have either a portrait orientation frame, or a landscape orientation frame, and replace the insert using a Vista Key.

The two main types of table stands are "Kangaroo Style" and "Boomerang Style". The Kangaroo style is a portrait orientation sign (curving right-to-left) with a special aluminum base and a single end cap on top. The Boomerang style has a landscape orientation (curved top-to bottom) and it is actually a sign frame held by 2 metal end caps.

Name plates and post titles also need to be changed occasionally as new personnel are hired and some are promoted (think positively, nobody is laid off, right?). This is one of the most dynamic areas in am organization. Some companies happily purchase name tag and couple of months later it is obsolete, or they need another bunch. Those later orders, with smaller quantities, are pricier and so the "special project" is frozen. So, make sure your name plates can be altered in-house.

Another option, in addition to the above table stands, is the triangular name-plate sign shown here. You can fit 3 inserts, each 1" wide, for each face. The plastic end-caps can be easily removed to allow changing the insert.

The triangular table stand can be ordered only in brushed aluminum finish.
